Guidelines for Sign-Building
Materials (for one sign)
- wooden stake (Home Depot or the like)
- two pieces of bristol board or coreplast plastic sheets
- corrugated cardboard (optional)
- markers with dark colours, tempra paint work with bristol board only
- staple gun or screws and metal washers
- white duct tape or clear packaging tape
How to (once you have chosen your slogan: see below)
Use pencil to sketch your symbols and/or words on your boards:
- you can use the same message on each side or two separate messages or two connected messages
- make your lettering very thick so that it will be visible from a distance
- ensure that your language is appropriate to the public which willUse dark markers to "colour" your message lettering and "pictures"
- When your boards are finished, staple or screw them to each side of the wooden stake. You may find that you could use some corrugated cardboard to reinforce the bristol board pieces underneath.
- Use the tape to tape around the free edges of the boards and reinforce the structure
